One of the most popular civilian handguns in the world—possibly the most popular handgun—is the Glock 19.
It is especially preferred for home and personal defense. But you need a light for the Glock 19 to do that in the dark. This enables you to see your surroundings as you look for potential threats as well as your target when you're actively in danger.
With handguns, the weight of accessories, including lights, is crucial. Lights alter the balance of your Glock's front end by adding weight. The less the light weighs, the less it disturbs the weapon's balance.
While holding the gun in a shooting position, the controls for the light should be simple to reach and operate. Think about your shooting hand. Even though most weapon lights are ambidextrous, especially if you're a southpaw, you should check to make sure.
Despite how simple it is to use, you must still plan to train with the light. In the midst of a battle, you can't expect to be able to figure out how to use any light.
You want the light from your weapon to last as long as possible. It must be able to withstand adverse weather, drops, and recoil. Select a waterproof, impact-resistant light. An extremely durable polymer casing is similar to the Glock itself. Additionally, it complements your Glock for a nicer appearance.
To aid in aiming in the dark, some lights come equipped with built-in laser sights. Even with the Glock 19's constrained rail space, a two-in-one laser and light gives you the option of having a laser sight if you really want one.
You can stick with a light that is just a light and save money if you're satisfied with your red dot or pistol sights.
Glock 19: Still the Best Handgun?
The "best" handgun cannot be determined in an impartial manner. Everyone has their own expectations for a pistol, and there are numerous purposes for which one might use a handgun.
The Glock 19, however, is unquestionably among the best civilian pistols ever sold in my opinion. I'm not the only one who thinks that, as evidenced by the fact that it's one of the most widely used handguns. It's also the weapon I prefer to carry concealed and one of my all-time favorites to shoot with.
The Glock 19 is very dependable, offers excellent durability, and is simple and comfortable to shoot.
What Should a Pistol Light Have in Lumens?
In general, a pistol light should fall between 150 and 400 lumens. However, even 60 lumens will sufficiently illuminate a space for you to see.
On the other hand, 300 lumens is the absolute minimum you should use if you want to use your weapon light to effectively blind an attacker.
I advise against going above 1,000 lumens, and you should only do so for outdoor use in a wide open space. This brightness inside will definitely blind your assailant, but it will also blind you.
That's pretty much it for information on the top lights for the Glock 19.
Some of these lights are more effective for exploring sizable outdoor areas. Some are better suited to simply lighting up little indoor spaces.
Additionally, there are more high-end options available for those who can afford to spend more, as well as a more affordable choice for those who are on a tighter budget.
However, with all of the choices we've listed here, you're sure to be able to find one that's perfect for you.
